What is wrong with Jeff Gordon?! What ISN'T wrong with Kyle Busch?!

Okay, Watkins Glen. Gordon's the best at road courses. He was garbage at the race today. WHAT HAPPENED?!!! I'm just as frustrated as Gordon is now. I mean both road courses, he has been garbage. What is it: the COT, the new tires, or is it just luck. His luck can't be that bad??!!!! Or is it crew chief Letarte. I'm thinking it's him. When is he going to get his first win???!!! I'm to the point where I think he isn't going to win...???!!! I'm just so angry that Gordon is so bad this year. Any words to make me feel better..??? What do you have to say on this??!!

By the way, what's up with Kyle Busch this year. 3 road course wins... I don't think a lot of people have done that in a year. 8 wins already; clearly, he's going to surpass Jimmie's 10 wins... 2 road course wins, a restrictor plate and what else can you say. This guy is on a roll. I'm telling you no one is going to stop him this year. He's just so dominant. Sometimes he irritates me. I don't hate him, he's just winning too many races this year. Cut it out already... What do you think?

Even the late and great Dale Earnhardt Sr. had an off year now and again. Don't worry about it too much. It happens to the best of us. Jeff will come around sooner or later, and when he does, the other drivers better watch out.

I hope that he goes on a real tear when he finally does.

As far as Kyle goes, I think he has really matured in the last couple of months. It seems like he is gaining more fans each week. I'm not a fan of his, but, I can stand him more than I used to be able to. It's hard to hate a champion, and, I have this feeling that he will come out on top this year.

I don't think the problem is with Gordon as a driver this year, it seems all the Hendrick car's struggle at times. When there is a team that dominates all year, you experiment to try and find out what they have that you don't. Since this new car it seems the guys that really carried the sport in the old car are having a hard time finding a balance with this new car, we have all heard them complain about it, some are handling it better than others (Kyle Busch in particular). Johnson and crew have done 18 test sessions this year so it goes to show you that the Hendrick crowd aren't finding what they want yet. Letarte and Knaus will figure this out, both are very smart guys.

I didn't like seeing Jimmie dominate last year nor do I like to see Kyle do it this year, but when your hot, your hot. They sure are clickin' right along this year and Kyle has proved a lot of people wrong, he wins basically anywhere he wants, plate racing, road course, ovals, trucks, nationwide and cup etc something that hasn't been done in a while in the same year. As a fan I don't like seeing the same driver win over and over and over again but gotta give credit where credit is due and Kyle (and Cup crew) are deserving of it this year.

I feel your pain. It's been tough this year. It's almost as bad as the 2005 season, and he missed the chase that year. The COT isn't the issue to me. Nope. He's clearly shown he can drive that thing, but whatever is going on troubles me. How can you go from pretty much first to worst? He is too talented for a thing like this to hamper him for long. He'll rebound. Don't worry.

As for Kyle... 3 road course wins? Not a lot of people have done that huh? Well that's because it's never been done before! Kyle's the first to do it. And I congratulate him on his history making victory. It's refreshing to see Kyle dominate after the "traditional" dominators took over. I personally don't mind at all.

I'm thinking it's neither Letarte or Gordon. I think it's the fact that Rick is focusing too much on a certain unnamed driver who he wants to get a title for. If that's the case then Hendrick needs to look at his proven winners. You don't just go from being the dominate team for the past 10-15 years to suddenly 3rd or 4th best without something drastic happening. Last year they dominated practically all of the COT races, yet this season the excuse is that the other teams have caught up to them. I just don't see how they could truly make that much ground on HMS in just 2 months in the offseason. I think it lies deeper. Hendrick needs to put more focus on his 2 former champions because they have proven they can get it done with a halfway decent car.

Kyle Busch was the first driver ever to win 3 road courses in a season, which is just one of the many records he's broken in his career. I don't think he should cut it out, he's proven he can win at any type of track on the schedule, and I think it's great. I do wish the #24 team would kick it into gear, but this season I'm all for Kyle winning the championship, they've worked their butts off.

IDK, but I have 5 friends in my Nascar group here that are in major depression. I don't know, maybe Hendrick should pull a Ganassi, do the old Crew Chief Swap, this just isn't Jeff Gordon & the #24 yr..I'm frustrated as well as I picked Jeff Gordon to win his first race today. Come on Hendrick, this is Jeff Gordon somethings gotta give...I'm sure he is gonna get a win, it better come soon, I like Jeff he is a great guy, I can not see him going thru 2008 without a win...its just not right. Maybe swap Tony Jr and Steve Latarte..IDK somethings gotta give..as my Jeff Gordon fans are all wearing black they are so depressed.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

The races were great today and I have a very good feeling that Jeff Gordon will win the 500.

  • I fee your pain. I am a semi new Jeff Gordon fan and I hated to see him falter today. But I do agree with bestanswer. Rick hendrick has $$ in one eye and the #88 in the other.

Thank you for being a good sport regarding Kyle and his wins. Thats a nice change from all he hating, and puking etc...that we usually deal with.

actually, according to an article i read earlier, no one has won three road course race in a year before - another record for rowdy. and he stretched his "most wins across series" record to 16. and i think i hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

as for jeff, i still believe that chad, jimmie, steve, and jeff are still experimenting but will "suddenly" get A LOT better once the chase starts. jeff got beat last year not preparing for the chase enough - maybe he's overcompensating this year.

Jeff Gordon is OLD. Kyle Busch is YOUNG...

jeff needs what jr needs a new cc, kyle is going so hard to beat hendricks to let rick know what he let get away.
