Does the Olympic Opening Cermonies reflect the --
Communist approach to life? That it's all show and it's OK to fake things as long as it makes people feel good and makes them proud of their country, and attempts to sway the opinions of outsiders? The facade is better than reality.

I'm not defending Communism, but how is that any different than it is here (US)?

Well, when you consider China is a Communist nation that earlier this year received harsh criticisms because it said that only Tall, Slim, Attractive, Young, and Beautiful women could be hostesses at award ceremonies . . . oh, and don't forget that their gymnastics team looks like 12 year olds - some with missing baby teeth still (the minimum age limit is 16) - the fireworks on TV were partially computer generated, and the little girl that supposedly sang on TV to 91,000 people in a stadium and to the whole world watching actually lip-synced to another girl singing because the girl with the good voice wasn't attractive enough . . . no, no rigging going on. That poor girl has been labeled world-wide as a new rising star on Monday. She never even sang a note. Don't forget that Joey Cheek, a US Winter Olympics gold medalist and campaigner for an end to violence in Darfur, had his visa to enter China revoked 24 hours before leaving for the US. And, when a journalist in China began posting all this information on a Chinese website, the Communist government stripped it off to try and save face. The list will get larger I'm sure. I have an extreme distaste for everything that the Chinese Government stands for. Those people are horrible people. The Olympics are supposed to be about a representation of reality, not faking things. Truth, honesty, integrity. China has never reflected these attributes. Don't believe me? Go buy something that says "Made in China" and then you'll get it.
