Japan: Black Women in Japan

I want to go to Japan or other country's in Asia one day but I just always wondered how black people are treated there. I know theres not that much black people in Asia but I was just wondering. I have a couple of questions to ask...

1. How black women are treated in Japan?

2. What about the dating there for black females?

3. Jobs, school?

And I was wondering. Is there any black females here can talk about there trip to Japan? Any problems you ladies had?

Thanks.

    1. Japanese treats you as just one of foreigners. The skin doesn't matter. Strangers are all the same for them.

    2. If you are attractive, something may happen to you not because you are black. BTW black female singers are very popular for Japanese young generation for a long time.

    3. It depends always how come you survive in Japan. Speaking Japanese fluently is one of key things for everybody. Some patience, respect and generousness would be helpful for your enjoyable daily life in Japan too.

    1. Well first off there aren't that many blacks in Japan. And if you see one more than likely it will be an African. And it will also be a male. I think I can recall seeing maybe 5 female blacks in Japan the time I was there (I was studying Japanese for 3 months in Tokyo). I know of plenty people teaching in Japan that are black. There is actually a website for black people in Japan called Black Tokyo (http://www.blacktokyo.com)./ There is also a facebook and livejournal group for them as well.

    2. Well again there aren't that many black females in Japan so the likelihood you would see that relationship is slim. But I am positive it happens. Only because every time I went to a club I was approached by several Japanese men. There are Japanese men who are interested in black culture so naturally they would be interested in the women (if they can find any in Japan).

    3. I don't know what you want answered for this. All I can say is that black females in Japan in the working field are usually doing a job that involves English (like any other westerner).

    4. I didn't have any problems. I did have people touch my hair a lot. That was a bit annoying but then again, our hair is cool and they probably wont get a chance to touch our type hair ever; so why not take advantage of the opportunity? ^_^

You'll have a great time. I can honestly say I felt more comfortable in Japan than I do in the USA (which is kinda sad in a way isn't it?)

1 They're treated like all the other foreign women.

2 I don't know, but there are some black guys in Tokyo.

3 There are no such things like black schools. You can work as an english teacher.

You don't look black from your avatar...

    Anyways.

    1. They're women, they won't be treated like they are in America. Men are more dominate, so you open the door FOR them. Just be very respectful and you will receive lots of respect back. That's what Japan is about: respect.

    2. I've seen many Japanese girls date black men, but I am not sure about Japanese men dating black girls. Could happen if you find someone special.

    3. If you're fluent in Japanese, you'll be find at both. Just make sure you have a school/work visa.
