Altering will not stop marking once it has already started. It would be a waste of money for anything except birth control. Use a bellyband and start crate training.

In future pets, altering will prevent marking if you do it before they start to lift their leg. Once it has already started though, there is no way to stop marking. Unless the dog is altered at six to eight months, later altering does not help in marking issues.

He's almost always now not purposefully marking his territory on your condominium, he is almost always simply now not housetrained and does not recognise any higher. Frequent urinating can repeatedly be because of a bladder illness - if it is everywhere the situation, now not simply in a single or 2 spots, it is time for a vet investigate. Dogs with a UTI additionally repeatedly urinate of their sleep. If you may have bought him looked at and he is not ill, it is again to housetraining one zero one. one million. Set up a agenda. If he is nonetheless a dog, you'll be able to need to take him out usually. A regular rule of thumb is that almost all dogs can preserve it for one hour longer than their age. For instance, a 3-month-historical doggy can preserve it for 3 or 4 hours max. Keep walks and feeding constant. Take him out the very first thing within the morning, a couple of instances throughout the day, and proper earlier than you cross to mattress. two. Buy a crate. A crate-educated puppy will see a crate as a den and won't do away with in it. Keep him in it whilst you are now not dwelling and at night time so he would not have an coincidence. three. When you are taking him out, hold him on-leash and cross immediately to a special potty-discipline. Stand in a single situation and permit him circle round you. Give him 5 mins. If he is going, compliment him enormous-time and supply him a particularly tasty deal with, like a work of meat or cheese. If he does not, no concerns, simply placed him in his crate and take a look at once more in twenty mins. four. If you trap him having an coincidence, do not scold or punish him. This is useless and can make him frightened approximately getting rid of in entrance of you, within or out. It too can make him lose believe in you. Good success!

I agree with the answerer who suggested a belly band - neuter him first of all, that should decrease his urge to "mark" his spot. Clean up all the spots where he's previously marked with either an enzyme cleaner or straight white vinegar, dish soap, and baking soda. Try to catch him in the act if you can (easier said than done) and clap really loud or do something loud that distracts him from the marking. Then hurry him outside to finish. Belly bands are awesome for when you can't be home to watch him.

i have a yorkie and he had the same problem. Neutering will help him stop lifting his leg on the refrigerate and other items, because he is mainly trying to mark his territory. if you put vinger in the spot he peed he is most likely not going to pee there again. buy a cage and only let him out to go to the bathroom, eat, and to be played with. you can yell at him, but only if he just did it. take him for walks if you cant get him fixed. he'll mark his territory on other objects outside. know when he eats and drinks so after you can let him out.

    ps: good luck

Neutering will help but it won't solve the problem.

Confine him when you aren't able to supervise him and/or use a Belly Band or Doggie Wrap to prevent him from marking.

    A DAP diffuser might help.
