What is your favorite book in the Bible and why?

I love the Word of God and I seem to have different seasons. I think now my favorite is Hebrews.

I think it is like a sermon even though it is a letter.

I love the Psalms. They give me comfort and security. I am encouraged and know that I am not alone. That others go through the same things as I do, just in different ways.

Psalm 91:1 He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepard. I shall not want.

These are a few of my favorites.

Proverbs councils against visiting prostitutes, countersigning notes, and being conceited. Proverbs advises to accept criticism, save for the future, work hard, be patient, and trust in the Lord. In one section (Proverbs 8 and 9), "Wisdom" is treated as a person who was with God when He made the world. Seeking wisdom is the main concept of Proverbs.

My favorite book of the Bible is probably Proverbs because of it's practical use. Of all the books in the Bible, Proverbs is the one that I know that I can use every single day which is why I make it a goal to read a chapter of Proverbs every single day so that I can get wisdom and apply it to my life.

As the author of Proverbs was Solomon...the wisest man in the world, he obviously knew something so I should desire to know the same and be wise as well. Proverbs does say to get wisdom and understanding.

Hebrews is a great book. I am currently teaching Hebrews in our life application Bible Study course. My favorite is probably Colossians. I love Colossians probably because of the great deal of time I spent studying not only the text but the culture of Colossae its self. The book has so many great mysteries and profound teachings.

Revelations is my favorite. A lot of people say they dont understand it and that is why I like it because it gets me closer to God. If I dont understand something I just pray that he will give me understanding and he does. Matthew is also one of my favorites. God bless you.

    The Wisdom of Sirach.

You won't find this in the Protestant Bible, it was removed by Martin Luther, despite it having been canon from 330AD to the time he lived.

I love the book of Romans,

It clearly states what the Gospel is and its source.

I am thrilled by the truths therein.

    Deuteronomy.

It provides for the proper way to stone to death a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding day. Otherwise, we'd have to guess.

Acts is a good one. I like Titus also, I think they are all great for different reasons.
