Incase there is any doubt, I would make it clear that I am an ex-christian, atheist, and have been for more years than I care to remember. I have no serious beef with christianity, as taught in the four gospels, but I have many disagreements with the hate teaching of Saul/Paul, and those fanatics who follow it.
Why do so many people ask questions in R&S, that are either irrelevant,?
or that could be answered in minutes with a simple Google search?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes this sound reasonable to you?
How the world works lately...
If a man cuts his finger off while
slicing salami at work,
he blames the restaurant.
If you smoke three packs a day
For 40 years and die of lung cancer,
your family blames the
tobacco company..
If your neighbour crashes
into a tree while driving home drunk,
he blames the bartender.
If your grandchildren are
Brats without manners,
you blame television.
If your friend is shot by a
Deranged madman,
you blame the gun manufacturer.
And if a crazed person breaks
into the cockpit and
tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet,
and the passengers
kill him instead,
the mother of the crazed deceased
blames the airline.
I must have lived too long to
understand the world
as it is anymore.
So, if I die while my OLD WRINKLED *** is parked in front of this computer,
I want all of you to
blame Bill Gates
Sound fair?
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhy are Muslims so contradictory?
For many years I employed/worked with, several muslims. I found them to be intelligent, resourceful, and logical.
One was my site manager, another worked with my wife, between jobs, on the logistics of the job, and on site, worked as foreman.
In all things related to the job, their reasoning was impeccable.
Unfortunately that didn't extend to their beliefs.
In a working environment, they questioned everything, and thanks to them, we never defaulted on a contract.
However, they insisted on trying to instill the "logic" of Islam, in me, and were totally incapable of seeing the difference between subjective and objective logic.
Why is this?
Why can't they recognise that the same rules that apply to, the best way to blast a mountain side away, apply to the evidence for a god?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen is Yahoo going to do something to improve it's functionality?
When is Yahoo going to do away with it's totally dysfunctional report system. and add a usable kill file to it's answers forums?
There are people that I can only describe as spammers, who waste megabytes of bandwidth day in, day out, asking the same inane question, but rephrasing it so that until you open it to read it, you do not know what it is.
It serves no function but to annoy, but as the ToS, is so badly worded, so badly monitored, and so easily abused, nothing can be done about them.
But should you inadvertently hit the "?", instead of a full stop, you get reported and sent a violation notice, which, when you challenge it, you are completely ignored.
When are you going to do something?
1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Products1 decade agoWhat is the point in this "second death", that christians are so fond of?
In reply to an earlier question, this statement was made.
" All who are not saved will face the second death, which will consume their souls and destroy them forever, sending them into eternal non-existence."
What is the point?
Isn't it rather like being sound asleep, and having someone wake you up, to take your sleeping pill?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHow do christians cope with the threat of eternal life?
Atheists are often asked how we deal with the prospect of oblivion, and we are expected to make deep meaningful answers, as if oblivion was in some way frightening,
Yet when asked about what they will do, for eternity, xtians are very reluctant to even attempt to answer.
The best we usually get it "Worship God", but they won't even attempt to tell us what that means, exactly.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is it with xtians, and free will?
Xtians often cite free will, as the excuse for their god's failure to act, or keep it's promises, but: Where in the bible does it actually say that we have free will?
If the bible does not say that we have, where does the idea come from.
