Yep, sure do. It only goes for under 15 minutes.

It's quite tactical how the swimmers go about swimming it and can be a real mental fight also.

Some power out fast early to try and get a lead so that no one can catch them later even if they are running out of steam.

Others choose to pace it and get the same splits throughout the race, "Slow and steady wins the race" style".

Others save up all their energy to power home in the last laps.

This makes the last lap interesting if you know where everyone is coming from and see who's style of swimming wins on the day.

Absolutely, otherwise you miss all the great moments. There are tactical swims, and swims designed to blow all the competition out of the water, and then there are the great swims, like Kieren Perkins from lane eight to winning. Just fantastic!

You'll be then get death by boredom if you had to watch 10 km swim, marathon, or 50 km race walk.

Ppl only seriously watch if they have some intrest of their obsession if not leave it out.

haha i agree with cmags like 100%. im always texting during them or sometimes im on the phone while the race is on so i can be distracted by a nice conversation then the final lap i start screaming, so basically i only pay attention to the first and last lap.

When showing it on tv they usually go to a commercial in the middle of it but i usually am texting or doing something else so not all of my attention is on the swimming

Watching someone swim a mile makes me thirsty. There's plenty of time to get up and get a fresh beer !!!!!!! lol
