How high would have gas prices have been if Gore had been selected via the SC to be President?

SC = Supreme Court.

Update:

Mar...this has nothing to do with the election. For your information, this was brought up in a conversation, and I thought I would ask the same question here as to what people thought.

And to answer the comment about Bush being selected, yes, that is exactly what happened. Gore won the popular vote, and yet Bush is there.

I DO agree with the comments that if Gore were to have been President in the end, we probably would have been paying higher gas than what we currently are because of the "Green" push Gore is doing...he would have supported green policies which would have put more taxes on gas and cars...while he rides around in his SUVs and private jets.

I think that not only would gas prices be higher, but he would have likely passed the bill that was floating around then to crush all cars older than 12 years?(if I remember correctly). I do think that this would have happened, as this is right down the road of Socialism...Gore's forte.

Forcing the public to all buy new cars would have made cars unaffordable for many, and we as a country would be closer to broke than we are now.

I do know that we would have had less reason to drive though, as he would have signed us into Kyoto, which would seriously cripple our industry, eliminating many more jobs to overseas.(McCain, and Obama have both vowed to do this-Kyoto- once elected).

Goreism is not gone...just postponed to this election, and both of these clowns of our two party system are going to take us head first into just that...Ok, back to the subject.

Our public lands would ALL be Wilderness areas, and off limits to people(if you don't believe this just look at Clinton's scramble making many Wilderness executive orders in his last few days in office)so we would more or less lose our outdoor recreation on public lands(we can't all be hikers).

What I find hilarious is that all the Green movement does for us is cut our own throats, creates Socialism, and sends our jobs overseas to countries which have a free pass to pollute at will (China). Man has been part of nature since man existed. Gore's idea of removing man from nature would create an imbalance in nature as man has always been part of nature (since man existed), and the effects of doing such are something no-one seems to question, or care about.

They'd probably be half of what they are today for a number of reasons.

    1. Mr Gore would not have slashed taxes irresponsibly and driven up the deficit to record levels.

    2. The dollar would not have taken a nosedive due to #1. This is the principle reason for prices being where they are today.

    3. We would not have invaded Iraq and destabilized the Middle East region for generations to come. We would have stayed focused on bin Laden and Afghanistan. Bin Laden would be dead now and the troops would all be home.

    4. The "green" push would have resulted in LOWER gas prices if it bore fruit with alternative energy sources since demand would have DROPPED despite comparatively modest prices.

    5. The private jets and SUVs (actually it's a limo not an SUV that he rides in) that the President rides around it are both a perk of the job and a necessary evil for his protection and support.

because the president now suits the ideology of those that document about larger gasoline expenditures I heard on a radio application that in the course of a million month in 2008 on the tremendous 3 community information shows there have been 32 comments about severe gasoline expenditures

When Gore was second vice president under Hillary and Bill, he said we should be paying the same as the people of Europe pays for gasoline.

I'm thinking the price was about 6 bucks American a gallon back then, you do the math.

Many are too young to remember this. This increased Gore's stock value in Occidental Petroleum when he was V.P. Read any number of articles on the search page link below. Always follow the money will this guy. I would imagine we would have been over the $7.00 a gallon in his first month.

bush was not SELECTED by the supreme court.

there are rules about how long it can take to determine a winner.

the supreme court only said that no more recounts are legal.

recounts had already been done illegally past the end date in florida.

there had been 3, all favoring bush, and at least 3 done afterwards by msm (notably CNN) showing bush won the popular vote in fl.

there was even a civil rights investigation (authored by those hostile to Bush) done that showed no irregularities in voting.

lovely if people wouldn't take to heart deliberately incorrect memes to vomit them up time and time again.

Gore is one of THE problem why gas is so high now with his global warming. Get over the election a new one is coming.

Well he probably wouldn't have stopped at his 50 cent per gallon gas tax. Leftists are never satisfied.

That would depend on what Saddam Hussein had decided they would be. His goal was to control OPEC. He was mentioning the 300 a barrel number. So there you go!

Probably not as high it is currently due to not being in Iraq and a giant deficit that has devalued the dollar.
