How can I hook up my laptop to play on my tv?

I want to connect my laptop to my Reciever to play on tv. Laptop does not have s-video connections. It is a Sony Vaio K PCG-K45. The reciever is a Sony STR-DE725 (its a little old). Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

well what other video outputs does it have? if it has a VGA output (blue port that looks some pins fit into it) then get a VGA cable, and check and see if your receiver has an input for one. if not then try getting a VGA to S-video converter (GET A BOX TYPE, NOT A CABLE, THOSE DON'T CONVERT IT TO FORMAT THAT A TV CAN USE.) here's one I would recommend getting if you need to do so http://www.amazon.com/GRANDTEC-GVC-1000-Console-Co...

Source(s): although both VGA and S-video use analog signals to transmit the data, VGA is a parallel cable, and s-video is a serial cable. (if you want a explanation for this then mail me)

go to best buy circuit city something of that nature and ask them i know it can be done i believe you get a cord and maybe a program with it that allows you to connect to the tv like a vcr would
