ride the silk road/ route on horse back?
hey homies. this is something i reallly want to do. but am finding it hard to know where/ how to start planning.
Q1-how long could this take?? &
Q2-i don't want to do one of those '11 day tours' with token horse riding, so are there any groups/ companies i could do the whole thing with??
i'm gonna love anyone who offers any info or advice

The Silk Road starts in China and stretches all the way to Europe through the central Asian republics to what was the Roman Empire. It is thousands of kilometres long.
My uncle owns a company in Kyrgzystan (which borders China) that offers tours in that country along the silk road, hence my knowledge of it. Most websites focus on only the Chinese end of the Silk Road, not the entire route.
Due to the great distances and extremes of climate/landscape, not to mention the many countries that you wold have to pass through, no one currently offers a journey along the Silk Road on horseback.

as far as Silk Route crosses many modern countries, it will be not enough to apply to Chinese tourism company...
yet i do doubt there is someone providing so called "whole thing"...
most people like it steady and simple so agents won't invents something peculiar if it's not wanted...
big chance of having "one of those '11 day tours' with token horse riding"
