How do I download photos from a camera card to my computer?
I am not a computer whiz and need help. Please keep your answers on the level of a non-techno type, but be thorough. A short-cut to you maybe be a wild goose chase to me. Thanks!

You go to office depot or some other computer place and get a card adapter. Don't worry, the guy at the store will know what you want.
You insert this into the USB slot of your computer, and plug your camera card into the suitable-sized slot of the adapter. You may want to take your camera card along with you to the store, to ensure you get the right size adapter, but they are pretty standard.
Your computer will now identify the camera card as a disk, and you will be able to accesss the card as you would one of the disks on your computer (Say you now have a C and D drive, it will add another drive, probably called E. Just go to my computer, double click on the new drive, and you will see your pics. You may have to go down a folder or two.) Now all you have to do is copy the pics to your computer, verify that the computer can identify them, and then delete from your camera card.
Hope this helps,

The easiest thing you can do is get a USB (Universal Serial Bus - its the small rectangular slot on your computer) adapter for the type of memory card your camera takes. The type should be printed on the card itself. The most common ones are CompactFlash, MemoryStick, SD, and XD, in size-decending order. No matter what kind of card it is though, simple USB adapters can be found at electronics stores or Radio Shacks and even big box marts like WalMart and Target. You just have to know what kind of card your camera takes.
Once you plug your memory card into it and plug it into your computer, your computer will read it as though it were a regular USB memory drive and you will be able to see all of what is on it and copy things to and from it on your computer.

If your computer doesn't have an integrated card reader, you can probably purchase one off of amazon.com. You can get them for like... 5 bucks plus shipping.
Then everything else should be self explanatory once you install the card reader onto your computer. Just read the manual. It's not all that difficult.
Or you can use a usb cable, if your camera came with one. You just plug one end to your camera, and the other to your computer and it should work.
Good luck!
