So my Banana trees are not growing...?

I have had banana trees forever, gave several away! But this season, they have only grown to be about 5 foot, normally, 15 to 20 feet. I live in north Texas, anyone out there having the same problem? Any advice would be well appreciated.

I lived in Florida for a long time and had Bananas, Coming out of my ears, hardly ever got fruit, only once or twice in 30 years. #1 They like water, and damp roots. I took all my grass cuttings and put them around the stalks of the plants. never had much problem.

    3 I also used a even number fertilizer.10-10-10,8-8-8, 6-6-6, the like.

    Best of luck.
