Worst reasons to become a veterinarian?

What are some of the worst reasons that you've heard/experienced for people wanting to become veterinarians?

Update:

My fave:

You'd rather not deal with people.

    For the money.

I like your fave answer. Yeah, people think the money is great. Vets have expense and insurance issues just like regular doctors, but most don't believe that.

I had a friend who "played" with this idea. I had to be the best friend I could and asked him to answer some hard questions like:

Can you take being bitten? Can you handle blood?

How do you handle an emergency w/an owner who will be distraught?

Can you take having to tell people that their animal is seriously sick or dying?

Can you put an animal to sleep?

Tell me how you would tell a person that there is nothing you can do for thier animal and it has to be put down? How do you comfort the owner? Afterall, the animal is not your only client.

Needless to say, my friend did not become a vet.

When they say they want to do it because of the money, i think that's the worst reason to become a vet.

The worst would be from my step-cousin. His reason? "Because it sounds interesting." This is coming from a guy who is allergic to most animals. We were in high school when he suggested this and refused to consider taking the intro to animal health care classes that were offered at the time.

Money, because you have to do some pretty icky stuff like picking ticks off dog, neutering them. Oh and one of the things I'm most afraid of is trying to clip a half feral cat's nails LOL

I really haven't heard of any! BUT, I used to want to be a vet, until I learned that you had to cut them open for surgeries, and some of them died!! (I was little) I didn't want to be a vet anymore!
