Cuban, Matos, kicks ref in face -- Should he be banned? (And Americans are considered sore losers!)?
"Cuba’s Angel Matos deliberately kicked a referee square in the face after he was disqualified in a bronze-medal match....Matos’ coach was unapologetic...“He was too strict,” Leudis Gonzalez said."

Should Matos be banned for life or just the next Olympics?
With the numerous judging controversies there have been in Taekwondo this Olympics, do you think there needs to be a revamp of procedures?
Just a note to all the anti-Americans out there: At least the Americans didn't resort to violence when they lost or felt cheated by the judging.
I have only seen "might be kicked out" but there may be further news I have not found yet. If anyone has a link to more news on this subject, feel free to post it. I will read it. :o)Thanks.
"This is a strong violation of the spirit of taekwondo and the Olympic Games. The sanctions are the following and are effective immediately: Lifetime ban of the coach and athlete in all championships sanctioned by the (World Taekwondo Federation) and at the same time, all records of this athlete at the Beijing Games will immediately be erased," said the announcer, reading a WTF release."

Though he can't officially be banned until due process, that is the recommendation from the World Taekwondo Federation.
I saw the video and that was deliberate at of aggression towards an official. I am unsure about desciplinary actions in the sport, but compared to other sports, attacking an official usually results in stiff penalties but not the stiffest of penalties. I think a life time band is strict as well as a band against the coach.
I don't understand why he was disqualified so quickly. He was getting up at the end of his minute of injury time. In other sports with injury time, it is never that strict. When their time is up, the ref tells them to get up or its over.

Matos and his coach have both been banned for life from all competitionss. but with the judging and referees and their decisions you have to feel he was just frustrated. the british girl scored a head kick right in front of the referee and only one judge challengedd the decisionn not to award her the 2 points. she won on appeal but had no chance against the Mexicann as she had not prepared. lets get the judging separatedd from the corruption of national pressures.

Banned for life, is extremely too much. Not going to the next olympics is a reasonable punish. but Matos's coach should apologized or cover him up at least but he didn't. Well too bad, London is out of his head...

they should have moved him to Guantanamo and stick a probe up his donkey...
** EDIT:
My question would be - If you had 100 of whatever currency you use; and donate to either the Matos, his coach or the team? Would you want the company you own or your last name be tied to this competitor (aka Donkey)? Lets say Matos rattled out on TV, I lost my temper but I would like to thank "Mr and Mrs YOUR NAME" for sponsoring me.

Yes, Cuba has one very sore loser. America has many sore losers. And by Americans own definition, it is the total medals that count right? :)
