    That sort of meaningless answer is regarded as violating the Community Guidelines as it is regarded as not a real answer. If no one reports such an answer then you get away with it. People give such meaningless answers for the sake of getting 2 points.

    Not it is not..It is against community guidelines,

    A lot of these get reported-Not an answer.

    I can't stand it when people do this.

    No it's similar to "spamming". If you don't know the answer, then don't bother answering.

    No, "idk" is not a legitimate answer. If you do not know the answer to the question, you shouldn't be trying to answer the question.
