What is the best metal guitar brand for death/heavy metal under the constraint of about 500 USD?

I've always thought Ibenez or Dean sound good for that style, take a look at some of your favorite metal guitarists, what do they play, you don't need the exact model they have, you can usually find a cheaper model that plays awsome. For example, Dimebag played a Dean, You could also go to Where I bought my ESP bass off of musicians friend scratch and dent section, you can see what other customers have said about the guitar so you don't end up buying a piece of junk, and the scratch and dent usually has very good deals, ( I got $70 of my ESP and I can't find a single thing wrong with it.)
