Is it absolutely required to use a Boss AC Adapter with Boss pedals?
Or will any 9v Ac Adapter do? I have 3 boss pedals already (DS-1, CH-1, and DD-7) and so far I have been using batteries since they seems to last a long time (at least for me.) but now I think I want to switch to adapters. It seems pretty ridiculus to me that you have to use a Boss adapter when there are 100s of other adapters that also produce 9v of voltage. It seems Boss stresses this a lot so I was wondering if any AC adapter will do or does it really have to be a Boss? If yes, what exactly is the reason for this and what are the risks if i use another adapter?

Not really.Even radio shack stuff works.Make sure they are in the right specs though.Take your unit & boss adaptor or it's specs to the store & the guys there will give you the right one.
