In the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, how were the bicycles with the big lighted wheels constructed?

I could tell that there was a wheel within a wheel, but I couldn't figure out how it was connected to the pedals and stay stable. The big wheel didn't seem to have an axle.

The exact same mono-wheel you can get if you just write to me.

Soon (about mid of September 2008) there will be a website, where you can get more information about the mono-wheel, it will be www.monovelo.com

You also can write to info@monovelo.com

The price is 1'990 USD plus shipping and handling.
