Harry Potter Question: the bogart?

Ok I remember reading once that lupin said in one of his first classes no one knows what the true form of a bogart looks like but then i was thinking later in like the 5th book when they were cleaning out the headquarters there was something in a cabinet and they didnt know what it was so they asked mad eye wat it was and he said it was a bogart but doesnt that mean that madeye knows the true form of it since he didnt open it up but saw through the cabinet?

    woah great question.

Mad-eye Moody must have known the real shape of boggart as of previous answers boggart can feel the presence only when its near or in sight of it.

Yes he saw through the cabinet with his [creepy] eye lol. Maybe he peered through the cabinet and saw 'the thing he feared most' and using his great magical knowledge, he figured out that it must be a bogart. Or maybe his glass eye is "special" and can see through the true nature of something... so he could tell that it was a bogart.

Mad Eye saw through the cabinet and saw his fear and because everyone was telling it was a bogart. It was pretty logical. Remember, Lupin was pretty sure it was a Bogart and Moody was a retired Auror.

    Very good Question!

But I dont think that even Mad-eye would have been able to see its true form. A boggart senses presence, i guess, or at least senses it is being seen.(This is the magical world after all, so this is probabale).

I think the when madeye, looked at the boggart, it would have shown him the thing he fears.I think it is highly unlikely that just because mad-eye wasnt in the boggarts physical presence, yet was looking at it, that it would not transform into the thing he fears.

So , no I dont think Mad-eye, would have seen the true form of the boggart. He would have seen a version of his biggest fear!

Yes, his mad eye sees through things. Sometimes people just know what looks and sounds like a bogart.

  • Moody can see through things but i think he heard the Bogart rather than saw it.

i'm a mom of two, so y6 i could be like Mrs. Weasley seeing her family participants ineffective. yet greater suitable than their deaths, i'm greater scared to dying of them going lacking and not understanding what handed off, whether or not they're nevertheless alive or ineffective. How ought to a Bogart rework into that?

The form of a boggart will take the shape of whatever one fears most, whether it is concious of being watched or not. So when Mad-Eye looked inside the cabinet, he saw whatever he feared most, whatever that is.
