Which fighter did Jack Dempsey refuse to fight?

Some clues for you. It was not Harry Wills or any other black fighter. It was a sparring partner he had. Dempsey stated he would not have a sanctioned bout with this man because he knew he could not beat the guy. Who was it?

Update:

This guy beat Dempsey up every time they sparred

Good question sir. A lot of folks are going to say Harry Wills but that's not true as they actually signed contracts to fight only to have the fight cancelled. After getting pummeled in sparring sessions by him, the man Jack Dempsey did not want any part of was the legendary Harry Greb who of course is also famous for handing Gene Tunney his only career loss and giving him several other hard fights.

It's not the answer you are looking for but I know the money men tried to drag Dempsey into the ring against Jack 'Gorgeous Gael' Doyle when Dempsey was too old anyway but still refused to fight a man who was at that stage a just about walking wreck. It would be like putting Foreman and Ali in the ring now.

confident, he possibly became racists, yet did not evaluate himself as one. He does not combat a black boxer, not because of fact he became racists, yet because of fact the conventional public does not help those forms of fights. If a white champion have been crushed by a black fighter the inhabitants of whites could have reacted violently, when you consider that that they had not forgotten the Johnson era in boxing, and just about all of whites have been racists as we talk. Promoters make fights which will sell tickets, and via Dempsey's time white/black fights does not make money. attempting to understand a custom from some years in the past isn't undemanding, and Dempsey's very own thoughts in direction of different races could have been racists, yet in later existence he became not racists in his movements or words in direction of others.
