Who will John McCain select for his vice presidential running mate?
This is just for fun. Last week I asked who Barack Obama would take. Now, McCain will reveal his choice later this week. Who do you think it WILL be and who do you think it SHOULD be?
The most menttioned candidates seem to be
Bill Crist
Kay Bailey Hutchison
Joe Lieberman
Tim Pawlenty
Tom Ridge
Mitt Romney
Others have been mentioned less often, including Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin, Rudy Giuliani, and Mike Huckabee.
Or maybe he will select someone totally out of the blue like Colin Powell, JC Watts, or Newt Gingrich.
Unlike with Obama, I really don't have any idea who he SHOULD pick. I'm going to say he WILL pick Mitt, but that's just a wild guess, and I hope he doesn't.
Best Answer goes to the first person who correctly guesses the ONE person McCain actually ends up naming.
Sorry, it's Charlie Crist, not Bill Crist.

I am betting on the long shot, home run swing
CARLY FIORINA - Attractive, articulate, intelligent, private sector executive experience (which so far NONE of the candidates have), strong female, and ethnic......
She can bring Texas, where she's from, get Silicon Valley fat-cats over to the Republicans, disgruntled Hillary voters.......

Mitt Romney

I don't know.
I would like for him to choose Huckabee. Huckabee doesn't believe that the US's job is to "spread democracy worldwide," but rather to build and conserve as needed so that Americans like their country so much that people in other places are more likely to CHOOSE to emulate us
I would not like him to pick Romney (and not Newtie either!!!!!!!!!)
I will support McCain regardless---better than Romney and his supporters have up to this point

Mike Huckabee.

Most likely? Romney or Lieberman.
BEST pick? Condi Rice or Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
P.S. Whoever he chooses, it'll be more of the same misery and gloom of 8 years of failed Republican leadership.
Obama-Biden '08!

It doesn't matter he's not going to win the election. Who would be sick enough to want four more years of Bush.
