Ya'll were probably hanging out as friends. In high school they still do the whole 'will you go out with me' crap. When you get older you'll understand it a little better. If ya'll are together on a regular basis, hanging out, talking/texting, then it's probably as friends. The guy I'm with never asked me to be his 'girlfriend' it was just kind of assumed that I was his and he was mine...it's been like that for a year now.

Now, if he asked you to "go out" that probably means to date one another. If he asked you to go out sometime then chances are he wants to date you. But back in my day of youth that meant boyfriend/girlfriend. At this point in my life my bf didn't even ask me out or me him. We got together and never parted and one day ... behold, he introduced me as his girl. Somethings take time. Have fun!

If he asks you out again...then you might consider asking him to do something and eventually there will be a discussion on whether you are a couple or not.
