Is David Hasselhoff mentally challenged?

Did he really tell a group of guys that they are, "As American as the Olympics" or did someone slip me a hallucinogen?

Update:

Just cleared my urine test. He really did say that tonight on America's Got Talent.

    Not sure about mentally-challenged, although the alcohol could be killing his brain cells, but yes, he did. I was taken aback there too for a second, wondering if he'd even notice what he'd said! :)
