10. Gain control of all student newspapers.

11. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

12. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

13. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. (DONE - UNIONS)

14. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. (ACLU)

23. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

24. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

I don't need your link. I'm familiar with Saul Alinsky. Have you read that book, or any of his others? It's like Lenin and the Bolshevik revolution!

Most Americans revile socialism, yet Barack Obama's poll numbers, surprisingly, remain competitive. Many people, including yours truly, can't support him because every time we try to do some research into his background, we reach a dead end shrouded in mystery and littered with unsavory characters. I hope Obama fans won't be offended that I simply want to do my own research and form my own opinions rather than depending on Obama's web site for "the truth."

Obama seems to be a longtime disciple of the man you mention, Saul Alinsky, a man whose stated mission was to teach radicals to disguise their ideology.

Alinsky couldn't be bothered with the all talk and no action behavior of liberals or liberalism. He said "A liberal is (someone) who puts his foot down firmly on thin air." He prefered a more militant, farther left approach "America was built by its radicals. The hope and future of America lies with its radicals." And so, "This is the job for today's radical--to fan the embers of hopelessness into a flame to fight. To say. . . let us change it together!" <==sound familiar?

Obama worked for Alinsky's Chicago's Industrial Areas Foundation and the fact that Michelle is also making Alinsky statements further proves that they buy into the mantra.

Even before I knew anything about Obama's relationship with Bill Ayers or employment in Alinsky's organization, I was certain he was far left of the Democratic Party. If John McCain was black and Obama was white, McCain could spend the next 70 days in Hawaii, laying in the sun, and still win by a landslide. McCain is closer to the middle, closer to traditional Democrats, than Obama will ever be.

I did not know Saul personally, but I'm sure he was charismatic.

I knew Saul Alinsky and trained at his school in Chicago. IMO, his philosophy that "the end justifies the means," was flawed because when he left, the local residents he helped were on their own to deal with the aftermath.

However, he had balls and chutzpah, a marvellous sense of humour, and an uncanny ability to cut to the chase. He was a man beyond his time and the Establishment hated and feared him. I admired him. May he rest in peace.

McCain has a LOT of explaining to do. He needs to help us understand why we should elect a Republican president after 8 years of Republican control nearly wrecked the place.

Of course, maybe he has a decent plan. I wouldn't know it because he spent the summer bitching about how his opponent is more popular than he is.

He's a BAD choice right now. His focus is on military, we need economy and energy, which we would have with Obama (and Biden brings in the national security)
