How to save documents in chronological order rather than alphabetical?
Microsoft word (I'm computer lame), I would like to save my writing in chronological order when I save, rather than by title, any automatic setting or easy way to do this?
Also, what about rearranging the items already saved from title alphabetically to chronologically?
I'm probably overlooking the obvious, so go easy on me.
The first time I tried saving by date it didnt go for some reason, just tried again and it did.thanks.

If you mean they appear that way in Windows Explorer, here's a tip:
The files only APPEAR to be in alphabetical order. If you click on the header of the Date Modified column, they will sort in that order. If you click a second time, the sort order will reverse.
And if Date Modified doesn't appear as a column, right-click on the headers and select it from the pop-up menu.
Hope that helps.

well, first, let's open the folder containing all the documents. Change the view to Detailed, instead of thumbnail or list. The tops of the columns are what we are interested. The date column. Click on the head of that column. All the documents in the folder will rearrange themselves by date. Click on the top of that column again, and they will just reverse order.
You can also start naming the documents with the date first (like 08-27-2008 my books.doc) in the title you give the document. This will arrange them by date, when you choose to list them alphabetically, since any alphabetical listing puts numbers first.

Now, that would require the bible to make sense. Such a bible could never be released to the public... it would cause untold amounts of spontaneous atheism as people would be able to compare it's contents to the real worlds history books. The bible must remain vague, with fuzziness surrounding EVERYTHING. The moment it's contents are locked into a particular timeframe the excuses can no longer apply. Edit: Notice, none of them have dates... even though the Jewish calendar clearly states that today is 10 Tevet 5768. Jews seem to have a much better grasp of the chronology of things in their religion that these Christians, who say they have a chronology, but no dates.

move your cursor in the blank area of the folder, right click>arrange icons by>modified.
All documents will be sorted in the chronological order of the time it's modified. If you like to view in the order of the time the document was created, answer 1 might be one of the ways.
