According to my buddies who work at Penske...it will be David Stemme...should be announced in next few weeks. The only hang up so far is sponsorship....so it could change at the last minute. But that's what they're saying. I think he's deserving of a descent CUP ride...Ganassi did not allow him to show his true potential. Just an opinion as always.

I think it'll be David Stremme. Personally I feel a team of Penske's calibre could utilize someone better but thats how it is.
In the meantime alltel could be leaving at the end of this season or for the latest the end of next season as the Verizon buyout & subsequent phasing out of the alltel name takes effect. NASCAR obviously would not be as lenient as it was with AT&T/Cingular with RCR & Jeff Burton this time last year.

Almost from the beginning the rumors have been that it would be David Stremme. He has been working for Penske as a test driver, & Penske likes to promote from inside the organization.
