The record for most hits in a game is set by Chicago Ace Larry Cheney giving up 14 hits without allowing a run. This was set in Sept. 1913. This also held the previous record of 15 baserunners without yielding a run until Brett Myers yielded 16 baserunners(13 hits, 3 walks) on August 25th, 2008.
