Ok, you can do this simply by dragging and dropping. When you select the song in iTunes, in the bottom left corner there is a box that shows the album artwork. Since none of your songs have album artwork, it will say Drag Album Artwork here. So, google your album and find the album artwork for it, save it on your computer and drag it onto the square in iTunes that says Drag Album Artwork Here.

The only way to do it without an account in the iTunes store is to find and load all the pictures yourself. When you have selected a song, there should be an icon that shows an arrow or something in the very bottom right corner. Click this and it will bring up a box that says "no album artwork". Once you've found the artwork you want, drag and drop it into this box. This should work. It is extremely more convenient to use the store.

In which case you highlight the desired song, right click and select get album artwork.

These are the only ways I know of. Good luck!

Source(s): experience! the alternative is veeerrryy tedious. trust me i tried for months to find another way. there isn't one.

There are several ways to do this, all using iTunes.

The easiest is to select the album (click the first song, press and hold shift key, then click last song), right click on the selection and choose Get Album Artwork. iTunes will query its database and find the appropriate artwork. This method, while simple, may not work because iTunes sometimes cannot find the artwork or applies the wrong artwork.

Another way to do it is to select the album in iTunes, right click the selection and choose Get Info. Find the album artwork image on your internet browser (Wikipedia and Amazon are great resources). Right-click on the image and choose Copy. Back in iTunes, right click in the Album Artwork field and choose Paste. Click OK and the artwork will be applied.

It can also be done on a song by song basis. Just right click on a song in iTunes, choose Get Info, click on the Artwork tab, then Paste in the field.

Without iTunes store this will be tough and would require you reloading all the cds in your itunes. Time consuming! You can, however, do this with your iTunes software without it costing anything to you.

    Try this:

Sync your ipod with your computer. Once the process is complete, go to the "Advanced" pull down menu and go to "Get album artwork." iTunes will then access the artwork online. It will tell you it is accessing the store, but it is not a transaction nor will it cost you any money. That's it. All artwork that is located will be updated to your ipod automatically.

    I hope this helps!

i dont think that you can just add the pictures of the album covers you have to have all of the info for one song like the album name, the artist , and the name of the song.

then what you have to do is click advanced on teh tool bar of itunes and click get album artwork. it wont cost anything but you should retrieve most of the artwork if you are connected to the internet.
