Nursing agencies liability for employee wrongdoing?

Are nursing agencies liable if their employees commit an offense such as theft against a patient? And if a nurse is already on probation, by a judge, for a misdemeanor, for something else, such as shoplifting, unrelated to his or her job how would that affect their job and their nursing license?

It's possible that the agency could be held responsible, but for theft you should go after the person directly. I'm sure the agency has insurance that covers their employees but whether theft would be covered under it I'm not sure.

Usually a felony charge against a nurse for anything can trigger a suspension of the license. A misdemeanor probably wouldn't affect the license unless it was drug related. A misdemeanor might affect her job as most places would not want this type of employee.

If this nurse stole from one of your family members, please report it to both the agency and the police.

Nursing agencies have insurance to cover their employees on all aspects of their employment, that would include theft from a patient, if you have proof that the person has stolen something then you should file a claim and if you know the person has a Shoplifting charge then you should file a complaint with the professional regulation agency for your state so the person is prevented from doing it to someone else.~

The temp company is to blame for any fines or consequences. INS got here to the production unit I artwork at and placed sixty 8 illegals workers that got here from a temp company. The company replaced into fined and issued a caution that in the experience that they were given stuck back they could likely be close down.
