Forced patriotism in America. Man ejected from Yankee stadium............?

http://wcbstv.com/local/yankees.bathroom.ejection....

I thought this was a free country with freedom of religion and expression. This man was forcefully removed for getting up to use the bathroom during the singing of god bless America. What the hell is that about? America is supposed to be free. Forced patriotism is no different than re-education in a third world country. Forcing someone to do something is not American.

    The other explanation listed:

The NYPD told CBS 2 a different version of the story, however, saying in a statement:

"The officers observed a male standing on his seat, cursing, using inappropriate language and acting in a disorderly manner while reeking of alcohol, and decided to eject him rather than subject others to his offensive behavior.

Sounds much more realistic to me.

    I agree...

I would like this part to be clear:That that is quite ridiculous if that is true that he was kicked out of those reasons.

It should not represent all of America though, just some losers in charge at the Yankee Stadium, unless they had higher orders.

And the reason America is so great (for the first answer person who said something about people going to china..not SHILO) is that we have freedom of expression, etc. We can chose to dislike our country (as long as we don't physically harm it, etc.) or criticize it, just because someone gets up to go to the bathroom during the national anthem doesn't mean someone wants to move to a different country-it probably means someone has to go to the bathroom or doesn't want to be with who they are with, it could be a statement to disrespect America, but I seriously doubt it.

Why is there a rule in the first place that restricts movement during the playing of "God Bless America"? And it's enforced by ushers, stadium security and NYPD? "God Bless America" is NOT our national anthem and I would think a call from nature would take precedence over a song, even one as lovely as "God Bless America".

    I agree with shilo.

If there was truth to the man's claims why is the unnamed friend demanding to remain anonymous?

I love grannynightgowns story.... what people often forget is that freedom of expression does not guarantee freedom from retribution.

You have every right to walk into a room full of Marines and say loud and proud "I hate America"... but be prepared to "listen" to the Marines explain their position to you.

Bizarre. There was a letter in Dear Abby the other day where the person who was writing in did not participate in the Pledge of Allegiance because of their religious beliefs. They were often spat on and kicked in front of their children for it.
