- 1 decade agoMost "free" virus scanners are viruses in themselves... and if not viruses, addware/spyware. You would be better off purchasing McAffee or Norton Antivirus. Or have a computer savvy friend back up the stuff you want to save and start from scratch. Virus scanning agents often choke the performance of your computer. If you use Firefox and not IE, and are careful enough while surfing you will not have problems with viruses.
- 1 decade agoif it is saying that it will crash if you don't fix it, you propobly don't really have a virus. You have some sort of spyware on your computer that is popping up that message. deffinately DO NOT click on the message as it will propobly install even more stuff you don't want. You should have a program installed called Windows Defender under your programs list. Open the program and run a scan and it should detect and delete it.
