www.deviantart.com
I have my own account there, and you can post your pictures, sell them if you want, and talk to fellow artists. You can browse other people's art, as well. Also, it's great to really get yourself out there.. and tell them what kind of an artist you are. If you make an account, definately send me your link and I'll take a look at your photography. :]

Send It In For What Reason?
You mean you want to send your photos in so that you can get paid for them? if so, http://www.deviantart.com/ is a nice place to go. However, they don't pay you much, but it's something. However, if you don't gain much of a reputation on that site, you might not get so much hits. You should just upload them here:
you can use your Yahoo! ID. That's one of the most popular places for photographers both professional and amateur to showcase their work. People might buy them from you, you never know.

DeviantArt.com?
Others see your work there, comment. And theres also forums around there to discuss work or anything general with other photographers. It's very, very frequently used by artists of many kinds, photographers, traditional artists, graphers. I use it alot.
Even Alex Evans the young, famous net-known photographer is on there. Try it! ;D

You could create a photoblog on blogger, Picasa Web Albums is a good image hoster, DeviantArt is place to sell your work.
