    Density is mass over volume, so in order to find volume by cancelling terms, you need to multiply the reciprocal of the density by the mass, e.g., 4.5 kg EtOH x 1 ml/0.7983g EtOH x 1000 g/1 kg = 5600 ml EtOH = 5.6 l EtOH.

    AYZ's answer is correct assuming you are dealing with normal temperature and air pressure. If either of these factors are changed, then the density per m3 could change thus changing the result of your calculation.

    grams / grams per mL = mL

    4500 g / 0.7983 g/mL = 5637

    2 significant digits to 5600 mL

    plug the values into the problem

    d=m/v

    .7983=4500/v then solve for v

    v= 4500/.7983

    good luck
