Pectin in Jam and Jellies?

I have acquired quite a bit of free fresh fruit and would like to make some Jellies and Jams and found that the Pectin being sold would get quite expensive buying. Is there a cheaper alternate to Pectin

Go to the drug store or Pharmacy and get a container of citric acid, this helps preserve it and it is a powder you use a couple of teaspoons and if you want it a bit thicker, reduce the mix by simmering it on low heat this not only makes it thicker but intensifies the flavour, a bit of unflavoured gelatin to will help set the mix not alot just on or 2 packs for a gallon of fruit mixture.

You can get Jam sugar which contains pectin, and its only a few pennies more than granulated suger.

Fresh lemon zest and juice contain a natural pectin.
