Downloaded the drivers from the motorola site - but they just unzipped to an area in my computer. Is there an application or something to start the install process?

If you have downloaded the drivers then navigate to start/control panel/system/hardware/device manager, your modem should be listed as a communications device with a yellow exclamation point......double click to get its properties, then click on the driver tab, once thats open, click on update driver, another window will open and ask you weather you want to search for it autonmatically, select no and then select the dont search i will choose driver to install,on the next screen browse to the folder where your drivers are saved then click next.
they should install for you no problem

Usually there is an executable file that you run to update the drivers. Look for a file with exe and double click on it - it should install.
If there is no exe file, the other way is
to install them manually. First you need to find the ‘Device Manager’. If you don’t know where this is then click on ‘Start’ (bottom left hand corner of the XP screen), then click ‘Control Panel’, click ‘Performance and Maintenance’ and then click on ‘System’. You’ll get a new window that has multiple tabs. Click on the tab called ‘Hardware’ and you’ll see the device manager – click on the name to bring it up. you want to find something that will say Update driver - click on it and enter the location were the files were unzipped.
