what happens if the world rotates in the opposite direction?

The sun would rise in the west and set in the east. Also, low pressure systems would probably turn clockwise instead of counter clockwise.

See Superman (first one). Lois Lane dies in an earthquake. Superman gets super mad, takes off around the earth clockwise real fast until the earth slows down and turns in the other direction. Time went backwards, Lois came alive, and Superman swooped down to save her. Then he flew up and spun the earth to turn the conventional way. So, according to that movie, if the earth spins the other way, time goes backwards. Only in the movies! Seriously, we would all be dead if and when that happens, because the only way to get the earth to turn the other way is by a cataclysmic event, which would probably shatter the planet way beyond what life could tolerate.

the way we see time would change slightly as sunsets and sunrises would change places.

The BIG change would be the magnetic properties of the earth and the way the earth's molten iron core, spinning the other way, affects things.
