wiring..1979 winnebago duel battries discharge, rear lights not working?
something wierd under dash too....help
has onan genset...that cuts out
could use a wiring diagram and or some one who can relate simply
so i have two batteries.....does this work as 24 or 12 volts. there are two switches on the dash...both for battery and duel start....ièm guessing thet both batteries team to start at 12v, then operate as singles for engine, and for trailer fridge and lights while routing
last attempt...i charged both batteries. then connected them.
automatic cliquing occurs from relays.
genset electric fuel pump kicks in.
no power to front---no power to lights---no power to trailer.
if i unplug batteries...then plug external power.........i get no electrical any-where.
if i plug in electrical external with batteries connected...the fuel pump on gen-set cliques....then main breaker blows
now i think i fried my test light.
although this seems complicated. i know thereès a simple answer.
any ideas?

there are no simple wiring diagrams on those motor homes because i own one of those and it has a real complicated wiring system on it,the only thing you can do is have a shop start checking this one for short,i had looked for a long time for a wiring diagram and there isn't any,the only diagrams available are the ones for the chassis, but all those was wired differently because of the different features they had on them, the reason the generator will cut out is if the power is hooked up from a different source it does this to protect the circuit, you may also have a bad change over switch on it that will cause it to kick out and will run the battery down if the switch doesn't fully change over, you need an electrician to check that one out, those are harder to figure out than they look like they are,and if your not real careful you,ll burn the wiring up in it,good luck.
