Boating question? We took our boat out and it would stall after just a few minutes?

But when we would put it in backwards drive it would go. The boat is only about three years old and we have recently had a new "referbished" starter put in. Also what happens if you leave the blower on once you have already started up the boat and all looks good and you are out in the water. We left the blower on today for about 10 minutes after starting the boat.

Are the gas line, or cooling lines plugged?

    Hi!

    First the blower...

I used to leave mine on all the time on my cabin cruiser. (28' Marathon, single 350/OMC) Although I had forward facing vents, it just made me feel more comfortable. Some say it's a bad idea as in the event of an engine compartment fire, after the fire is already started, it could "fan the flames" but I kinda doubted that making much difference. Please note, most engine compartment vents are mounted high, they need that forward motion when at cruise to keep the air in the engine compartment circulating. However, the boundary layers at the bottom of the compartment may still be able to hold some fuel/air vapor.

So, in short, if you have a 2 batteries, run on one, leave the blower always on and make sure you're not pulling too much current and can restart. The 2nd battery will be there in case it draws down your 1st battery. My boat has 2 G27 main batteries, 2 blowers, (1 yellowtail and 1 cheapo blower) and I've never had a problem even when running the fridge.

Not sure about your other problem, wasn't sure whether you meant it wouldn't go in gear, wouldn't start, etc.

Feel free to ask and have fun!

    J.

Sorry to seem obvious, it has enough gas?

Leaving the blower on with the boat running wont do anything.
