Why does a answer have to have submitted before a spell check can be done?
? This is gross. Can't we go back to the old system where we can do a spell check before submiting an answer?

spell check does come up before you even hit preview answer. if there are no mistakes it does not come up.. also remember you may put the wrong word in but spell it right and spell checker will not come on. then after you hit preview you can always go back to edit it.

I don't spell check, but I know I have pretty good spelling skills. I have a hard time taking questions and answers seriously when they are full of spelling errors, but I have to remind myself that a lot of users are much younger than I am and are comfortable with 'text speak'. I don't do it myself, but I understand why some people do. Although I do correct people when it's obvious they are just trying to be cute by changing the spelling of words. For example, the words skool, u, boi, and others like that are clearly deviations from English, not simple spelling errors. Spelling errors I can live with.

I have a message that comes up to the right if I misspell a word. Then I can change before sending my message.
