Antivirus programs on Vista ?

My PC running Vista and an active spyware program, I know there is some windows antivirus as well. It was installed with Trend Micro antivirus 07. That is expiring soon - so renew, something better or is it a redundent program?

Just grab a free one like AVG or Avast. No reason to pay for something when the free ones work better. However, as with any AV, you must actually run a scan. Just having the program on the computer doesn't mean you won't get a virus.

On the Avast link, go to the orange link. It says Free Home Edition

I run McAfee Total Protection and Malwarebyte's AntiMalware with no problems. I had Trend Mirco Internet Security 2007 the previous year but like McAfee better. I use Malwarebyte's AntiMalware as a replacement program for Windows Defender because it is not compatible with McAfee.

I feel running McAfee Total Protection and Malwarebyte's AntiMalware together along with Vista's user account control(UAC) feature turned on is all the protection i need.

I constantly advise e-have faith CA Antivirus is greater effective then others. This antivirus has vehicle eliminate and stumble on virus means. I rather have experience with this antivirus since 2004. you may acquire 30 days trial in case you fulfill with this antivirus then buying on your city direct from CA place of work if there is.

Kaspersky is the best there is. It has better detection ratings then every other security suite except one I can't think of, and it slows your computer and internet down the least of any program that actually secures your computer. Trend Micro isn't as good.

P.S. : The stuff that comes with windows is pretty much worthless.

Download Avast home edition. It is free, and is a very good program.

By the way... Vista is windows, and if you are using Windows Defender, you might want to replace that.... windows defender is garbage.
