Why is it hard to trust?

It has been said that if you can't trust yourself, you can't trust others. I don't know but this is the hardest thing to do really. Even they say that you can't trust what your own eyes see... So is it " to see is to believe?" or " to believe is to see" How is this notion reconciled?

Trust for people happens on a personal level. Different individuals will experience unique situations and reasons to trust or not to.

A person needs to search within the inner self for the confidence to trust. It is almost like instinct.

whether it is "to see to believe" or "to believe to see" depends on the situation e.g. jumping off a cliff will most likely kill you - you do not need to see to believe but "he jumped off a 50 foot cliff and did not even break a bone" - you may have to see this to believe.

I suppose you won't know if you can trust that particular person or people until you have been with them long enough to really know them & what they're capable of.

The only way you are going to trust yourself? that comes with experiencing that particular thing, moment or aspect of life (in other words, you don't know if you don't try).
