Can somebody please tell me what features Adobe Photoshop CS(1) has that Adobe Photoshop CS3 is missing?
If any exist. I'm looking to buy a version of Adobe Creative Suite that is both not inordinately expensive and doesn't charge more for extra bells and whistles. I'm a little biased towards the original CS; do CS2 or CS3 actually have important features that CS doesn't? Also, does CS have features that CS2 and CS3 do not?

Adobe should have a release history somewhere on its website, but I've never been able to find it. In the meanwhile, here's one from Wikipedia that could be helpful to you.

I think CS3 is missing ImageReady which both CS and CS2 have. Generally there are more features in the later issues than the earlier. CS3 is of course 2-3 years newer than CS. Frankly, I don't know where you will find CS.
Are you a professional photo editor? If not, buy Photoshop Elements 6 for about $80 or less OR wait another month and buy Elements 7 for the same price. Elements will do more than most people ever learn that it will do.
