Whenever i apply pressure (like massaging with my hands) to the sides of my head, it feels painful to do so. Any clues as to why?

that used to happen to me a lot after wrestling practice, even though you get roughed up during practice i would never know why the back of my head would hurt. it used to feel fine then whenever i touched it it was liek a painful feeling. it went away after like 2 days

Does the pain come from the areas that you are pressing upon, or from elsewhere on your head?
