Try Windows Easy Transfer. You will need an Easy Transfer Cable if you cannot connect your computers via network.

I would recommend usb to usb connections. Walmart, Radio Shack and numerous stores sell usb to usb cables. Plug in the laptop to the desktop and let the desktop 'find' the 'remote drive' on the laptop and you're there!

    Good luck!

I would prefer USB if the amount of extra space you need is small

if not buy an extra hard drive that gives more GB empty space to your laptop?

If they are on the same network, you can search for a FTP program so you won't need to buy external memory. You'll find alot of "free trial" crap for Windows but there are free ones out there if you search hard enough. Just install the same program on both and you can then transfer files between them pretty easily. And be sure to open a port on your firewall so they can connect.

Yes, you can always visit your local Radio Shack and get CD's on sale to to do it, or......

Download the free "CC File Transfer" software. Learn about it on the link I gave you in the source box.
