If it is, then that's almost the best possible logo they could have for an otherwise lame team name.

It looks good but thunder sounds like a wnba team. The team name should be something plural like the trade-marked barons or bison. Just me but thunder sounds cheesy. Anyway it's a good logo.
PS i've got nothing against wnba teams but their names just sound cheesy.
Huh. I posted this answer and went back and actually read the thing and it said it did look like a wnba logo. lol
