I have a MS Antivirus that keeps popping up on my screen saying that my computer is under threat?

My Norton says it`s clear but no matter what I do I can`t get rid of it, It keeps flashing up and stopping what I`m doing, don`t know much about computers so it`s a bit difficult. I did not load this into my computer, so I suspect it`s fake and just trying to get me to pay for something I don`t want. Help

MS Antivirus 2008 is a new rogue anti-spyware program, which may also be named MS Antivirus or MSAntivirus2008). MS Antivirus 2008 has many clones such as AntivirusXP2008, XPAntivirus2008, Antivirus2009, Antivirus2008, VistaAntivirus2008, VistaAntivirus 2008, Windows Antivirus 2008, SystemAntivirus2008, SystemAntivirus 2008 or other rogue anti-spyware programs. MS Antivirus 2008 can come into users computer system after fake video codec installation with a Trojan, through spam emails or spyware. MS Antivirus 2008 will display fake system alerts, fake warning messages about "infection" to scare users into buying "full" version of MS Antivirus 2008 software. Delete MS Antivirus 2008 as soon as possible!

I had exactly the same problem recently even though I had AVG and Spy Bot. I found a similar question on here asked by someone else and took the advice that was given which was to download the free edition of Super Antispyware - I googled it and downloaded it that way. It has worked a treat ever since. I deleted Spy Bot and kept AVG and it's worked like a dream ever since. Good luck - it's a complete pain - it wouldn't let me open any windows or maybe for only a second or two before it came up with this warning. Don't pay any money though.

norton is antivirus and it only deals with infections that do serious harm to computers like delete files or programs. ms antivirus is not that dangerous, but it's really annoying stuff. norton isn't built to detect things like msantivirus 2008, but if you also have anti-spyware aboard your computer, it should be able to remove the infection.

anyways, you can also delete ms antivirus on your own, this way you don't need to download nor buy anything. here's removal guide: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-ms-antivirus-2008....

I used to have the same thing. Don't pay any money or click on any of the links as this will just make the virus worse. Its a Trojan and the only way I could find to get rid of it was to take the computer back to basics entirely. Take everything off that you have saved onto disc and compleatly start again.

problem. Also make sure your antivirus is up to date.

i had a virus a bit like this

when i did i did a search on windows, found the file in my hard drive where it was saved and deleted it

if it tells you access denied then right click,go on properties and untick the box sayin something like let other information be feeding into this program (or something to that extent) and then try again

  • You have to be more specific as to what the virus name is,A good tip is to run live update then click on help to e-mail norton,

Source(s): I have norton on my computer,And nothing else compares.Forget what peace says.

In my opinion Ccleaner is the number one tool for cleaning your pc. I've been using it for more then a year now and it works very well. You can grab your free copy here http://bitly.com/UrANQa

    It's the best choice.
