Anything about ear piercing?

Hello there,

I know asked this question before, but I was still wondering...

well my cousin who is about 7 years old, and she really wants to look 'pretty', meaning she wants her ears pierced. I'm not sure it is exactly the best idea, because she has an extremely strong fear of shots, so I thought wouldn't ear piercing hurt 'even' more?

Well I was just wondering if ear piercing actually hurts, and if there is anything I can do to prepare or something?

Also wondering about infection about the stuff...

Thanks so much!

It doesn't hurt, it's like a quick pinch. I've had my ears pierced multiple times, along with other piercings like lip and tongue, and trust me, they don't hurt that badly - at all. Most people don't even really feel it.

Cartilage ear piercings are more likely to get infected than ear lobes, ear lobe piercings aren' as along as they are properly cleaned and taken care of during the healing process. I would NOT get them done at a place that uses a piercing gun, because that makes the piercings more likely to get infected. I would suggest a regular piercing parlor, which aren't that scary, even for a seven year old. =] They should give you some after-care products, if not, they'll tell you how to take care of them so they don't get infeted. =]

    Hope I helped

    Hey-

OK I waited until I was 21 years old because I was afraid of the pain. And I don't mean like a normal afraid I mean I was scared to death. Then one day I just did it. I think the nerves are the worst thing of it all. They knew I was scared so they did two at once one person on one side and one person on the other so it was done at the same time and I only had to go through it once! :-) There was one really sharp OMG that lasted not even a second and then it was over. No more pain. If I tugged on it for a few days after or I put tight shirts over my head I could feel some pain but not too bad at all. I put the ear stuff on that they give you to prevent infection. It worked pretty well. Once I think it was getting a bit infected so I just used the ear cleaning stuff more. Use it with a q tip or something. Good lucks.

Ear piercing doesn't hurt so much as sting and throb for a few hours. Your ears will also be tender the first few times you change your earrings, which won't be for a few weeks after your piercing. Just make sure you don't move when they pierce! I did that once and the piercing went in at an angle, had to get it redone.

well, i got my ears pierced when i was five. it did hurt cuz one of the earings didn't go through. but definately get the piercing done professionally, like in a store. DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF. i brought my favorite stuffed animal, a cherry slushy, and a cinnamon pretzel when i got my ears pierced. they usually give you a solution 2 clean the piercing with and you have 2 keep the earing in for about 3 months. ear piercings are usually pretty safe and ear infections usually dont get that bad. i dont think piercings hurt all that bad though. now, i have 2 holes in each ear.

Well, if she goes to a good, sterile place (like Claire's, that's where i got mine) and use the piercing cleanser correctly for as long as they tell her to, then it should be fine, so long as she's not allergic to fake metal when she gets around to taking out her studs. Also, if you or she uses her nails to pinch the skin where it will be pierced, then it will kind of prepare her for the pain. Which, by the way, is not bad at all. It only lasts a few seconds, and then it goes away and just feels hot.

Getting your ears pierced hurts more then a shot but personally I've found shots to be quiet painless. Infection is almost a given with any object poking a hole in your skin then keeping metal in it day after day, anyway yes it will get infected and you'll have to wash it out twice a day everyday for a few weeks and they might become slightly swollen and hurt for awhile too.

To get your ear pierced does not hurt, depending on your tolerance. If she can't take shots, she won't be able to take getting a piercing.

If you take poor care of your ears (not cleaning it on a daily basis, switching it with dirty earrings, etc), it will get infected easily - and that is really uncomfortable with anyone, any age.

I suggest to get a clip on earrings (they sell them at stores such as Claire's, Icing, any girly store targeted at younger kids) and ask how she likes those. They look real enough and aren't painful.

all piercings hurt no matter if you get pierced with a needle or pierced with a gun. honestly i rather get pierced with a needle cause you might not end up with keloids and they aren't fun at all and they form when you get pierced with a gun! it only hurts for like 30secs! and it depends on where they get it pierced at the lobes aren't bad cause they are thick and 2nd, 3rd and 4th are bad either cause they are thick but the higher you go the thinner it gets and the more it might hurt it just depends! when i got mine done it only felt like a bee sting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th did and my 1st's i got when i was a baby!

Hmmm, oftentimes maximum individuals are allowed rings at that age - I recommend, maximum folk i be responsive to (which incorporate myself) had it executed as toddlers! i think of she has motives nevertheless. There are some extraordinary illnesses you are able to p.c.. up if the needle isn't wiped sparkling top and he or she must be apprehensive. She can be thinking of it as having any piercing - by employing this I recommend that needless to say maximum mum and dad won't conform to assert, a nostril piercing and probably your mum is seeing the ears as no distinctive. What I say, is make her sense undesirable. in case you ask and he or she says no, are not getting all loud and whiny and be like "Why!?" as a results of fact i be responsive to in case you do no longer recommend to, almost each teen does while they are actually not getting their way lol; merely attempt to no longer circulate all squeaky and stressful :P besides, merely consult together with her at a element the place she isn't busy doing some thing and ask top: merely say which you genuinely need it executed, which you do no longer care if all of us else has one, you in straight forward terms prefer to have the skill to placed on rings and you will save to pay for it your self. do no longer say "all of us else has one!" Or "yet you have pierced ears!" as a results of fact mum and dad do no longer seem to love once you carry persons into it..... Ask her in case you ought to use your birthday funds to have it executed (clarify merely how undesirable you decide on it) rather of having presents from her - she'll probable get you provides besides, yet who's conscious of...? in short: • Make her sense undesirable for you • furnish to pay for it your self • coach which you genuinely need it executed (perhaps artwork for it - chores, sparkling room and so on.) • do no longer carry all of us else into the communication • good success!
