how much oil do i need to buy for an 1981 camaro?
i just bought an 81 camaro and im changing the oil but dont know how much it holds

The 1981 V-8 models have a 4 qt crankcase and with filter holds 5qts.The V-6 models have a 4qt crankcase and with filter holds 4 and a half qts.Best of luck.

Bill is incorrect, size does matter. haha. But seriously, my tractor take two, and my drag car take 8. so how can you possible say that. Put in 4, check it and add as needed. once you get it close, start and run it for a sec to get everything lubed up. then check it again to make sure its all good.

V6 takes 4, V8 takes 5. Roughly, use the dipstick to get the level correct. Assuming the engine is stock. Your question is hilariously nonspecific. I'm an excellent wrench but useless as a mind reader.

4 quarts regardless of engine. 5 if you replace the oil filter too. (I have no idea why anyone wouldn't change the filter too, but people do it)
