During Ramadan, I just threw up.......?

it was unintentional. My husband cooked us omlettes before fajr with very old mushrooms. I threw up a lot and now I am extremely thirsty. I rinsed my mouth out but I didn't drink any water. Can I drink a little water and still continue fasting?

Update:

Rami - Your source says only deliberate throwing up breaks the fast. Most sources say unintentional throwing up does not break the fast.

Update 2:

I will continue the fast (thanks everyone for the advice). I am very thirsty but I will not drink water - insha allah.

I'm afraid you can't drink water or it will break your fast. Try to keep it until the time of Iftaar.

Only deliberate vomiting invalidates the fast not unintentional ones.

Maliks Muwatta', Book 018, Hadith Number 047.

    -----------------------------

Section : Making Up Days Missed in Ramadan, and the Kaffara.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say, "If some one makes himself vomit while he is fasting he has to make up a day, but if he cannot help vomiting he does not have to make up anything."

Things that do not break the fast

    1. To eat or drink something unintentionally.

    2. A mosquito, fly or any other object going down the throat unintentionally.

    3. Water entering the ears.

    4. Dust or dirt going down the throat.

    5. Swallowing one's OWN saliva.

    6. Taking an injection.

    7. Applying of Surma (kohl) into the eyes.

    8. Taking a bath to keep cool.

    9. Rubbing oil onto the body or hair.

    10. To vomit unintentionally.

    11. Applying Itr or perfume. It is NOT permitted to inhale the smoke of Lobaan or Agarbatti whilst fasting. It is also NOT permitted to smoke cigarettes or inhale its smoke.

    12. Brushing the teeth without tooth paste or powder e.g. using a Miswaak, etc.

    13. A dream which makes Ghusl WAAJIB (necessary) does NOT break the Rozah.

No, because the whole point of fasting is to live like the poor,

    Think of it this way..

you may be thirsty now, but you know exactly when your next meal or drink will be..

But the poor is thirsty now, and doesnt know when his next meal or drink will be!

So be strong, and wait till fa6oor!

No, when you drink water you will break your fasting.

But if you are still feeling sick & throwing up,you can break your fasting now, and fast this day after ramadan.

no. throwing up invalidates the fast, you can not continue. drink water, eat food. if you continue to fast it will not be accepted anyway, because it has already been broken. just make it up after Eid, inshaAllah
