Greatest player alive CHAMPIONSHIP!?

Instead of narrowing it down to 2 this is the championship round.

We have 4 athletes from 4 different sports(1 football, 1 baseball, 1 basketball, 1 other-sports)

Considering this is the baseball section and you may be biased you may NOT vote for the baseball player.

FINAL FOUR:

Jerry Rice

Willie Mays

Michael Jordan

Michael Phelps

Who is the greatest player alive?

Please Star

Update:

brettj: Gretsky was eliminated earlier

Great final four. The number one greatest player is Michael Jordan just because of what he accomplished throughout the world. Jordan helped NBA basketball expand globally. His incredible dunks and shots were seen everywhere and every kid in the World wanted to be Michael Jordan. You can't say that of Rice or Mays, maybe today of Phelps as swimming has had a surge as a sport. But Jordan is by far the greatest player alive.

Well, I would first eliminate Jerry Rice because although he was unbelievable, he just isn't quite on the level of these guys. And I would also eliminate Phelps because he is just getting started and although he accomplished something that no one else has, he just can't be put on this level due to one week of excellence. Don't get me wrong, I like Phelps just as much as the next guy, but I can't agree that he deserves to be in talks with Jordan and Mays. Now, out of the last two, I have to go with Michael Jordan. Here is why:

Stats: 30.1 PPG, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals, while compiling 32,292 points in his career.

Awards: NBA rookie of the year, 6 time NBA MVP, 6 time NBA Finals MVP, 14 all star appearances, and 1 defensive player of the year award.

The guy could do it all. He could score, pass, dribble, rebound, steal, block, win, dunk and is the best clutch player of all time. He brought excitement to the NBA like they have never seen before or since. He is solely responsible for making the NBA what it is today. With his high flying, clutch shooting, winning ways, he brought basketball back into the popularity of the sports world. And for that, he deserves to be the greatest player alive. Mays, Rice, and Phelps are unbelievable athletes, but Mr. Air Jordan tops them on this list.

I am going to have to go with MJ. Air Jordan is by far the greatest player alive.

Michael Jordan because he was a fantastic basketball player and a reasonably decent baseball player. Clearly Jerry Rice was one of the greatest receivers ever in the history of the NFL. I never saw Willie Mays play so it is hard to compare him to players today.

Greatest player alive is Michael Jordan.

I know Jerry Rice played football, Mays played baseball and Jordan played basketball but how does Michael Phelps play swimming?

    No Hockey (Wayne Gretzky???)

Of those, I would say Jordan.

Edit: Wow, he sure did win a lot of gold medals during the 4 weeks of competition during his two olympics and Gretzky dominated hockey for 15 years.

I'd say the voters got that one wrong.

But, such is life in a poll.

I will stick by Jordan for my vote.
